Meet the Owner

My love for gardening began when I was just a little girl. I remember watching a gardener transform our front yard into a beautiful display of zinnias, vinca, irises, and creeping phlox. From that moment, I was captivated by the beauty of growing things.

As I grew older, that fascination blossomed into a passion of my own. I spent years planting, experimenting, and learning how to nurture gardens through every season.

In February 2010, I turned that passion into Tender Hands Gardening in Norman, Oklahoma. What began as a way to support my family quickly grew into something much more meaningful.

I’ll never forget one of my very first clients, a kindhearted English professor at the University of Oklahoma. On particularly hot days, she would encourage me to come inside, have something to drink, and escape the heat—even offering her couch for a little afternoon nap! Her kindness and encouragement meant the world to me as I was finding my footing as a new business owner.

One garden became two, then three, and before long, my little business was beginning to bloom.

Life eventually brought me to Grove, Oklahoma, where I found myself planting new roots once again. This time, I had the opportunity to grow something even greater—a team of incredible women who share my love for gardening.

Today, Tender Hands Gardening has grown from a one-woman operation into a dedicated team caring for dozens of beautiful gardens throughout our community.

Looking back, what means the most isn’t simply how much this business has grown, but the people who have helped it flourish along the way. From that very first customer who believed in me to the wonderful women who now work beside me, Tender Hands has always been about more than beautiful gardens.

It’s about nurturing what grows, caring for one another, and finding joy in the beauty around us.
